The Oxford Declaration

 

Welcome to Pathfinder Audio's website, the independent label whose aim is: 'New angles on the Romantics: real and positive songs for the 21st century'. 

The younger Romantic poets - Keats, Shelley, Byron - might seem like remote figures dimly or disastrously encountered at school. But because they lived in turbulent and transitional times they lived almost  a parallel existence to us. Our recordings of their lyrics with Brindaband, which present their work as if they were contemporary recording artists, aim to bring out those parallels.

A good place to start is with 'My Romantics EP', a seven song collection which serves as an introduction to our work.

 There is also a wealth of free supporting material on the site which also aims to bring out those new perspectives. Highlighted here are reflections on what Byron's encounters with Islam say to us today; the connections between John Lennon and Shelley, and how Keats overcame emotional turmoil to achieve what he did:
