The First Fab Four

Thanks to all who supported the `The First Fab Four' in Oxford on 11th Oct. Next show is at Michaelhouse Cambridge (website www.michaelhouse.org.uk)  Do come along; it's a lovely venue and it should be a good evening, which immerses one in an era strangely like our own but leaves one with positive thoughts. Booking is through me at Pathfinder Audio; phone 01865 765436 or email pathfinderaudio.co.uk

The show presents a song cycle with lyrics by the Romantics and a soundtrack recorded by Brindaband, and provides an entertaining and accessible encounter with great creative minds. Now including evocative imagery, it demonstrates that the Romantics were a Beatles-like cultural force in their time, and provides fascinating perspectives on both 'cultural supergroups'.

As a low-cost souvenir of the show I've produced 'My Romantics EP' a CD with seven songs (running time 23.36). Details are at the CD/downloads page, up on the website soon of how you can use it together with 'The Shelley Story' and 'Lord Byron and the Greek War' to create four other Romantics music compilations.

Aill available as a digital download: 'Tibet Will Be Free' by James Cameron and the Glastonbury Street Choir.  It includes instrumentation by Brindaband stalwart Dave Eastoe and is in support of the cause of a free Tibet. It's twinned with my song 'World at the Crossroads' and forms an eight minute package which showcases Dave's versatile talents.

And in the spirit of supporting the cause of liberal Islam in Britain and Europe on the home page there now appears 'The Oxford Declaration' - a declaration of liberal principles for people from a Muslim background through which they can distance themselves from separatist and fundamentalist ideologies.

All the best,

John at Pathfinder Audio
